Simply New Testament Christians
We members of the Emory church of Christ strive to follow the commands of God, our Father, and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, as revealed to us in God's Holy Word through the Holy Spirit, the Bible. We endeavor to take nothing from, or add anything to, God's commandments as given us in the inspired (literally "God breathed") writings in His Holy Book (Deuteronomy 4:2, Revelation 22:18-19). We are just Christians; not Baptist-Christians, Methodist-Christians, or any other kind of hyphenated Christian, only Christians, and we invite you to become just a Christian, too.Salvation
We know that God is "long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9) and that His will is that all "should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him though he be not far from every one of us" (Acts 17:27).What must I do to be saved?
Hear—Romans 10:17
Believe—Hebrews 11:6
Repent—Luke 13:3
Confess—Romans 10:10
Be Baptized—Mark 16:16
Remain Faithful—I Corinthians 15:58
We would love to sit down and study God's Word with you to answer your questions.
New Testament Church
What church must I join?None—an example of men joining a church is not found in the New Testament!
The Lord adds the saved to his church—Acts 2:41, 47; I Corinthians 12:18
The Lord has only one church—Matthew 16:18.
Only the Lord's church can be read about in the New Testament (Ephesians 5:23, 27)
The church is the body of Christ—Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18
There is only one body—Ephesians 4:4; I Corinthians 12:12, 20
Division is condemned—I Corinthians 1:10, 13; John 17:20-21
We strive simply to be the New Testament church as revealed on the pages of the New Testament -- nothing more, nothing less.
